Should I be worried!?!
Hi! My mom and I got a baby green cheek conure about 8 months back, and he is going through his first molting. On his back, near his tail feathers, is a rather weird looking feather connected to a little red bead (I guess that's how to describe it). It basically looks like a tube worm with inverse colors (red on the bottom, white on the top). My mom says she'll keep an eye on it, but she doesn't seem too worried. However, this is my first conure, so I was wondering if anyone could help me out? Should we be worried? Is it normal? Is it just a weird looking feather? Thanks in advance for the help!

P.S. I know how to hold a bird, so do not worry, the bird was not in any harm what so ever. In fact, he was calm. I was holding him as you see in the picture so I could get a good picture without him bitting me full force.
