well now that my plygym is finished i want to wrap it. i will be using vetwrap and a guy at work gave me the idea of some kind of thing rope to give magoo diffrent textures to stand on and feel. so what kind of rope would be safe for this?

Off the top of my head I can think of hemp or cotton, possibly sisal. Just make sure it's not dyed with anything dangerous.

I'd probably go with cotton as it's soft. Hemp is probably good as well if you can find it, and for a reasonable price. Sisal is kind of prickly, but birds love to chew on it and pull it apart so I use it on toys. My cat loves to chew on it, too, for some reason so every time I'm making toys I have to give her a piece as well.
