It wasn't my roommate who made that comment; the cat's owner made the comment while talking to my roommate. Still very irksome, mind you.

EDIT: I realize now that I way I phrased it in my post was confusing. I've fixed it haha.

I know I'm bumping but good news: I found Tzar (the cat) a home. A friend of mine met him and fell in love with him. She was planning on moving to a new place anyways, so she is now in the process of moving in to an apartment where cats are allowed.

I'm quite happy with the outcome; Tzar will get a good home, and I don't have to run the Craigslist gauntlet.
