I'm guessing a 4-month-old ag this is my first bird ever I'm excited and nervous I want to make sure I do things right. My heart and soul is into making sure Max is safe. I don't even have him yet but I am in love with him my heart is so filled with joy. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for letting me join the group.

Best advice in preparation is to read, read and read more, from trusted sources, like that on this web board. Stay away from generic ones, like World of Birds and similar. There is still a lot of incorrect, baseless and just plain wrong info out there on parrots.

As a background document, consider reading the I Love Amazon - Thread at the top of the Amazon Forum. Yes, the diet section is designed for Amazons, but there is huge volumes of information that you will find helpful as a first time Parrot Owner. Work with your Parrot at the Breeders as soon as you can as a means of introduction yourself and for your Parrot to become comfortable with you!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PARROT HOME EARLY!! They need to be fully fledged! Bring your baby home early to create an early bond is rubbish! You need to resist any effort to be convinced that bring your baby home early will help!! IT WILL NOT!!
