To be caged or not to be? What is the answer

IMO, you need a safe place where you can "Park" your bird when you can't keep an eye on him, especially if he's fully flighted. I give my birds as much out-of-cage time as possible, but with a fully-flighted Amazon, I need to be able to put him safely in his cage if I'm frying food in a hot cast-iron skillet, or carrying groceries in the door, etc. I just focus on keeping their cages clean and full of fresh food and toys.
