Hello new parrot lover friends around the world! I posted a hello in the Amazon section but thought it a good idea to properly introduce myself.

My name is Emily, wife to Adam, mother to Lilyanna (4) Dylan (8). American Staffordshire Terrier, Irie and Chihuahua, Gypsy Lou. Yellow Crowned Amazon, Elvis.

Someday I hope to teach my bird some Elvis talk. If I ever do I will post a video link lol!

I just adopted him a couple weeks ago tops. He seems fairly comfortable so far but I can't wait to hold him. He takes treats and toys from my hand just fine and takes naps on his manzanita perch that we roll around. The dogs are cool with him and he seems cool with the dogs (although I NEVER leave them unattended!!)

Is there a thread of cool parrot sites around here? I'm always up for a good passalong of neat stuff/education!!

Yellow Crowns are great birds ... but they can become VERY TOUGH TO HANDLE during mating season ... be on alert for behavior/attitude changes come springtime ... hopefully you will have a very strong bond with Elvis before all this happens ...
