Amazon Roll Call

Thank you- we love having them.

Do you have any idea why I can't get the pictures to show up instead of just the link? The first time I tried I just got blue squares with question marks and the second try got the links only.

Thanks.

This is Polly (DYHA). I have had heár only for 2 month but it is going great.

Okay, my husband's "probably a Yellow Crown" Paul-E. First picture, the upside down, tangled in toys motion-shot (not really tangled, but EVERY DAY I see him & think he's gotten himself into a mess. He hasn't).

And the second picture, right-side up.

Only 1 amazon right now, although I see henpecked's orange wings are parents . . . No. Don't NEED another. Must stay strong.

Oh Paul E is a cutie, you gotta love how playful he is.That's a sign of a happy bird.Stay strong, I'll soon post some video of those babies learning to fly,it's the landing part that's painful to watch,LOL.

I have one 18-year-old Blue Front :green:Amazon named Meggie. She's an amazing friend and has overcome some awful ghosts in her past to emerge a well-adjusted, happy, healthy bird she is today. She's been with me the past ten years.

It'll be like watching the Pionus land . . . a wonder he doesn't break his neck each time, with his feet/faceplant technique . . .

Staying strong. Trying to stay strong.

The video'll be my downfall, won't it?

This is my Yellow Nape Lila.
She is a female, but I don't know her age as she was dropped off in a Humane Society night drop box.

I can't get my pic to upload here but if you click on my name above, I have a pic of Lila on my profile which you can see there.

Oh she's a beauty, sure she doesn't need a boy friend ? i have 3 males in the 700-800 grams range that would love a girl friend.

She is actually a very small YN Amazon. My male Yellow Nape that I had years ago was much larger. It must have been something about how the pic was taken, she was sitting on a very small collapsible dog crate that I took with us on vacation for a week for her to be in at a resort. As you know "henpecked" I have been looking for another Yellow Nape or a Double Yellow Head. She is desperate for a partner, she has been doing all this mating stuff for months now, but I just want a good pet, I had not thought about breeding.

nah you don't want to breed her, you'll just lose a good pet.My Jake is a hen parvipes YN and weighs in at about 490-510 grams, pretty small for a YN ,but she lacks in size she more than makes up for in heart.PS she's kick several of those 700-750 grams males right out of the cage and had them begging for help. They love her but she hates them and it takes a whoopin before they get the message that she's not interested.

Yes "henpecked", she has a BIG personality, as did my male YNA!!
I can't remember what Lilas weight was when I took her to the vet after I first got her.
I am going to look at a baby 7 month old hand fed DYH Amazon in the next few days.
I am excited!!
Hand fed babies are the best!!
