Does anyone know of an aviary vet in Northwestern Georgia area? I’m in Polk County, Georgia and one of my lovebirds, Blueberry, flailed around her cage and sort of collapsed at the bottom, still conscious and breathing a little heavy. She let me pick her up and handle her which she normally doesn’t allow. I sat with her and a few minutes later, she seemed fine and even flew off. But then she started swaying and fell over like she was dizzy or lost her balance. She’s roughly 5 1/2 years old and she hasn’t flown into anything recently, nor have I changed the type of food she gets, or given her any new toys. I do have a sealed container that has little trays of paint in it to separate her from her brother (also a lovebird) cause he bites on beak and I started separating them during the day as well as night so it could heal. I made sure it was clean and there was no paint on the outside, I just needed something heavy enough he couldn’t move. It’s been in there for roughly a month and Peaches, her brother, hasn’t been experiencing anything like what Blueberry is. It just happened all of a sudden after I put her back in her cage. I’ve got her in a small carrier so she’s not falling and hurting herself. She seems to be fine at the moment, but that’s just because she’s (still awake) not moving around the carrier. Please help, I am very much freaking out.

The thing is, we can’t afford to got to a vet and a specialist. So do we wait til Monday to go to the specialist that 2 1/2 hours away, or go to the 24/7 emergency vet and hope it’s not something that requires a specialist?
