Bad idea to get new birds?

Hey yall. I wanted some advice.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, the only remaining member of my flock is John. I've noticed him becoming quite depressed since being alone and it breaks my heart. I would love to get him a new friend or two, but here's the issue:

I'm most likely going to be attending uni in a year or two, and i don't know if I will still be living with my parents at that point. My hope is that I'm able to have an apartment by then but realistically that may not happen.

Obviously I'll first get my shit together before getting more birds because right now I'm not doing the best mentally which makes it hard to care for pets, alongside other stressors.

However, assuming I was in a stable position mentally, would it be a bad idea to get another bird given my other circumstances?

I’m sorry John seems to be lonely . In circumstances like this, the best advice I can give is that you sit down and ask yourself 3 questions.
Do I really want another bird?
Do I feel confident I can handle another bird?
Would bringing in another bird be in the new bird’s best interest?

Only you can answer these questions but I find that most of us, when we sit down and answer them honestly, immediately have our answer. I don’t know what that answer will be for you, but I wish you the best, either way!

My biggest concern is moving out the house, because I don't know how to approach the situation if I have birds
