He’s getting in some beak exercises for his vet appointment. He is going to be getting DNA sexed. I was told by the shelter that Blue is a male. I’m not sure how they got that information. I am just going to make sure. This way when he’s being hormonal in dark places if it’s a female I can highly discourage it. Egg laying doesn’t look comfortable to me.

Blue is beautiful. When did you get him again? I’ve read through threads, but can’t remember.

I adopted Blue back in November

Blue doesn’t like Vet appointments at all. He bites, and is aggressive. As soon as he sees the towel the vets and techs are in for a fight with him. Even seeing the towel is a trigger with him. He screams bloody murder if I even hang a towel in his room to adjust him to the situation. As soon as I let him out of his cage he goes to attack it.

My sun conure I don’t like bringing to the vet because he hyperventilates, and it concerns me if he will even make it through the entire situation. He gets really stressed out leaving his environment.

I’m sorry it’s such a struggle for them. My birds certainly don’t like it, & get a little stressed, but not like what you’ve described with your babies. The vet did get the worst bite I’ve seen from Ava when I took her in for her first visit last month. I felt really bad, but the vet assured me that it was her fault for not handling her beak more cautiously. That could have been Ava’s first vet visit for all I know, so we’ll see how the next one goes. I know she definitely did not go for the three years her previous owner had her. I hope Blue does okay for you with his upcoming appointment!
