Hello!!! I haven't shared photos of my little buddy in a while! I am of course delighted and excited, as any parront, to show off, err, share, photos. The first is taken on the morning of his 3rd hatchday. He is 3 and half years old now. Still as sweet as ever with a dash of hormones here and there. He's developed a serious enjoyment of hiking with me in his backpack. Someday, my wish is that I can take him out in his harness. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos!

Took him to a nice, quiet hiking trail. He really soaked in the sights.

Boomer just gets more beautiful all the time! I so love the jungle area you have set up for him. The outtings look like so much fun, I am sure he had a blast! The scenery is beautiful.

What a nice update! Glad to see Boomer is getting to see the world:) He looks so happy in all those pictures, and very healthy too! I also like the jungle you have for him, he must really enjoy that huh? Spoiled birdie:D

Beautiful Sun! He's seems well traveled as well. That's looks like the same pak-o-bird I purchased for my red bellied parrot but larger, what size is yours? I had ordered small based on Amazon feedback but I could have gone to a medium I think.

I just love that jungle, and so cool to see you guys having adventures out and about together! Lol'ed for real @ technicolour chicken :D

Boomer is adorable! I love these photos. I take Skittles for walks a lot too. He loves the fresh air and sunlight.

I think it is just so awesome to see how well cared for and treated Boomer is. I love nothing more than to see and read about others being so nice to their sunnies. I also think that backpack carrier is just the cutest thing.

Right now, my Skitty is atop his hanging rope toy. He's all wet. I was gonna do dishes earlier but he wanted a bath so I did that. Now I have to wait til he's dry so I can turn the AC back on and do some housework.

What awesome photos! Thanks for sharing. I am also a fan of your "jungle" for Boomer! He is such a handsome little guy. I love taking my birds on outings, too. Glad to see Boomer having such a good time! :D

Yeah, I love that little jungle too. If I had the room here I'd make one for Skittles. But I live in a one bedroom apartment so space is limited. He has his cage in one corner with a playgym atop it as well as a hanging rope toy. He also has a big playstand on the other side of the living room.

I think it's awesome that you did that for Boomer. He's really well cared for.

WONDERFUL !!! Things look great :) What I love about conures is that their such beggars :)

Thanks for stopping by, I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures! @MyFlock, I got size small which is recommended for sun conures, although truthfully, I wish I ordered a medium so he has much more room. Small is big enough though.

Here's some pictures from last week's hike! Me and some friends went to a mountain hike overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Boomer got to see a tame mountain trail and then the fresh, vibrant sea. Funny story about the photo of me and him by the water... a huge rouge wave hit everyone moments after the pic was taken. It drenched Boomer right through. Even the backpack was soaked and leaking buckets. He's never tasted salt water before. He took it like a pro though!

We might be going on another hike this weekend to a new place. Boomer is coming of course. Can't wait to share those with everyone! Cheers!

Some close ups!

I'm so glad I saw this! I almost missed this wonderful thread. BEAUTIFUL pictures of your gorgeous Boomer!

I was always wondering about the visibility (for the bird) with those back packs, but it does look like he can see out clearly. That's a size small? It seems if it was much bigger it would be cumbersome or might be too wide for some people. I'd like one, but when my birds go in something "carrier-like" the way they associate it is they must be going somewhere "bad" like the vet.

Nice scenery. Was this local? I live not real far from you, but have no idea of hiking trails and such. South part of OC has some nice nature trails though.

Boomer is so adorable. I just love those close-ups of him.

What a wonderful relationship you and Boomer have! Thank you for sharing all the photos of your life together.

It's always a pleasure to share photos of my technicolor chicken. I'm glad people enjoy it! @RavensGryf: I have 3 carriers which Boomer associates with 3 things: plastic carrier is bad because that means vet. Stainless steel carrier is ok, it means long trips. Backpack carrier is good, it means hikes. With the backpack, he willingly goes in without too much fuss, once he even went in and perched himself. I'm still in the process of testing but I think he understands that "Do you want to go out?" means a walk or hike outdoors. He nods his head vigously, up and down in wide, long strides.

These areas are all local to SoCal. I've gone to Abalone Cove, Del Cerro Park, Carbon Canyon, Griffith Park, etc.
