Amazon.com: Prevue Pet Products Wrought Iron Flight Cage with Stand F040 Black Bird Cage, 31-Inch by 20-1/2-Inch by 53-Inch: Pet Supplies

I got this one, HUGE for my bird! He loves it! You can also pair it with this and it works great! We just got a play gym for the top of the cage for him to play on. He never uses it though. :-/

Amazon.com: Prevue Hendryx Pet Products Universal Bird Cage Cover, Large, Black: Pet Supplies

We are saving for this. :-p

Hybrid Bird Cages : 72"H x 144"L x 48"D H3 macaw cage, African Grey cages, Cockatoo cage

With a divider it will allow me to create a conure cage that is 3 foot wide and 4 foot deep. Than the Macaw that I will be getting will have a HUGE cage for himself, all in one nice big walk in package. Of course I am no where close to having the money for the basic cage. :-p The divider would need to be acrylic as to not allow the Macaw or Conure to interact so they don't hurt one another, or the more likely scenario the Macaw would have a conure snack. :-p

Baron, that huge cage looks so awesome! Your conure and macaw will absolutely love it!! I'm jealous(:

I've actually seen cockatoos, amazons, african greys and mini macaws kept in the A&E/HQ Flight Cages... except for the mini-mac, I definitely wouldn't recommend the cage for any of the other species! Not sure how the cages weren't destroyed, tbh....

Yeah, Oliver's hand-me-down cage is my uncles old african greys cage. I don't know what they have him in now... I'll be getting a bigger cage for him this weekend though and giving his cage now to my new conure. Oliver really likes the flight cage, and I think Mia will too.

So you don't think that he could break through the bars? He hasn't even attempted ever to break out of the bars on the cage he's in right now, not saying he could or couldn't though. I'm deciding between these two but now I'm way too worried he's going to break out of one! haha

I own that flight cage and there's NO WAY at all that a bigger parrots can safely be house in it! Absolutely, positively not! My husband can actually squeeze 2 bars together! I didn't let him brake it because when it started to bend I knew it wouldn't be suitable for the Jenday I was then fostering at the time, nor would it be suitable for the Sun I fostered later on. A friend of my ended up adopting the Sun and bought that cage, however the Sun did squeeze the bars together, which then made a big enough space to put a head through.

The Sun is now in this cage: PC-4226D Black

My Grey, Caique and Pionus would absolutely be able to squeeze the bars together.

That is why I would not recommend a Sun in a flight cage period.

I have no idea how much the cage is to be honest, you can google it and get an idea I would think.....I can ask her where she got it. All I can tell you is that it is HUGE.......more than you need for one bird but the Sun loves it! :)

Prevue is even more flimsy that the A&E and HQ....

Here you go : A&E Cage Co. Small Split Level Play Top Bird Cage - Bird Cages at Hayneedle

Three of my four fids are in a cage that I, believe it or not, purchased through Petco. I feel that I've gotten a cage that gives my fids more bang for the bucks. It's 30x30x40, so I can hang tons of toys from the top, plus thread various perches throughout the cage and also add little ladders. On top there's more room to add toys, etc. The good part about this cage is that it's ONLY $219.00!!! SO WORTH IT, in my humble opinion.

Looks nice but I'm always leery when they don't specify the metal used.....

If the bars are anything like the HQ and A&E flight cages, no I don't think a sun could break through it! I originally bought the HQ Flight Cage for my cherry headed conure at the time. He weighed around 150-160 grams - larger than a sun!

To give you an idea.... the first night I set the cage up (came brand new out of box but previously owned) and before I really added anything to it!

The same cage decked out for my new red throated conure. She's about the same size as a sun conure, if not a tad more petite in bone structure.

I've never had that issue... and like I said, although I've seen large parrots kept in these flight cages, I wouldn't recommend it!

Someone kept a patagonian conure, and I think a blue crown conure and a hahns macaw all in one of the flight cages. First off, amazing that all three species got along! Second that the patagonian didn't break the cage! I wouldn't recommend such a large bird in a small cage anyway! But it can be done...

Sadly, the old A&E image of the flight cage does display a cockatoo on it....

Found a page that shows both a sun conure and a jenday conure in a double flight cage. Interesting.

I'm not saying that people don't house larger conures/parrots in them. You might not have had a problem with your conure, however, it doesn't mean that it is safe, if the bird wants to destroy it, it can.

I have the A&E cage, sadly the one displayed with the cockatoo on it. I just went over right now and squeezed the bars. If I can do it with 2 fingers, I rest my case.

The best option would be to pay attention to bar thickness and make sure it is appropriate for your bird's species.

wow i didn't think so much stuff would go on in this thread. Anyways, the main thing holding me back from getting a flight cage is the space it will take up. Im living in a small condo which is why. I kind of like this cage [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Hendryx-3252BLK-Products-Hammertone/dp/B008CA8OZI/ref=sr_1_13?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1376968262&sr=1-13&keywords=bird+cage]Amazon.com: Prevue Hendryx 3252BLK Pet Products Parkway Wrought Iron Bird Cage, 24 by 22 by 52-3/4-Inch, Hammertone Black: Pet Supplies[/ame] since it has all the nice features. Correct me if I'm wrong, but im pretty sure that the actual cage dimensions are still 24x22 with the seed catchers adding to that number. The reason I say this is because I have seen prevue hendryx's 18x18 cage at a bird store and the cage dimensions were 18x18, so i guess the same applies for their 24x22 cage. Would the 24x22 cage be ok for a green cheek? He will be out for at least 7-8 hours a day.

Crimson, I think the wires on my cages would require some force to bend them like that... it's not to say that they can't be bent with fingers, but I don't think quite that easily? I'm not sure... I'll have to check.

Marceldacs, that cage looks like it could actually be 24 x 22.

You could always use cardboard or book or items to measure out the total floor space somewhere so you could get an idea of just how much room the cage will take up before you buy it?

Monica, maybe the HQ cage has thicker bars? It's possible.

I'm pretty sure that my double flight cage is an A&E cage (it has different locks than the HQ, plus it has the annoying bars in the middle where the cage separator goes that the double HQ flight cages don't have -.- ) and it seems to be about same quality as the HQ....

They seem to be 'sister' companies, since so many of their cages are designed similarly!

It will be several hours before I can check the bars though....

@Monica- I love that cage. So cute!

I emailed the customer services at Prevue Pet Products about if the flight cage would be strong enough for a Sun Conure and they said they don't recommend it and that I should get something else so now I am looking at this cage
