Hello everyone,

My name is Kendra and I am playing the waiting game for my new Green Wing. He, or she, hatched Friday, February 3rd. He, or she, will be pulled from the nest at 4 weeks. I'll have to wait until then to get a picture as the breeder doesn't disturb the babies for the first 4 weeks while they are with the mother and father. Then, approximately 2 weeks after that, I can start making the 3 hour drive to start helping to feed and bond. As of now, it looks as if he, or she, will be coming home around the 21st of April. I have first pick of the clutch which will be DNA tested and I've asked for a girl. Should there be a girl, her name will be Meera. Should there only be boys, he will be Jojen. (Unless I change my mind about names between now and April 21) Until I know for sure, I'm just going to refer to HER as Meera.

Her cage is here

Today, I went to the store, ordered, and made arrangements for the PVC pipe to be cut to the specifications that Birdman posted for his Macaw play stand.

Now, all I need to do is start filling that cage with toys, build that playstand and wait. :D

Hello and welcome!! Congratulations on your future Greenwing baby, that is so exciting!! I can't wait to see pictures of him/her. That cage looks awesome and that's great about the playstand, Birdman666 has some GREAT adice about macaws. Keep us updated!! :D

Welcome to the forums, Kendra! Waiting is so hard, but the rewards last a lifetime! Glad you found Birdman's posts, they contain abundant knowledge and goodness!

I know how excited you must be. Greenwing Macaws have a very sweet nature. Mine is a very gentle bird, and very clever. I hope the time goes quickly for you to bring your baby bird home.

What a cutie! I really happy for you. I'm exactly 14 weeks ahead of you in same process with my GW Eva. Exciting isn't it?

So cute! We are going the exact same route. We are putting a deposit on a baby that's due to hatch today or tomorrow.

How exciting! At least you won't have to worry about your birdie being egg bound if you have a boy :)

This is true ... And I believe "fated" - all my animals have always been boys but for several different reasons I thought it might be best to get a girl GW .. However, that wasn't meant to be and I'm perfectly ok with that 😍🐦
