Hi all,
I've received a lot of great training advice from this forum! My very naughty GCC, Dilly, seems to be making improvement (slowly but surely). This though is a video of Dilly being naughty: https://photos.app.goo.gl/dOoGbYIoeDW90Uo73
She does this a lot... She will find a hiding place and then attack if I try to get her down or back in her cage. She flew up on the cupboard from her cage in the other the room. It wasn't that she was startled, she just thought it was a good place haha. But anyways, does anyone have any suggestions on why she does this and how to stop the behavior? Tia :)

Looks like nesting/territorial behavior to me.
Rb does it all the time while I wring my hands and whine.
Don't be like me.
I *THINK* most here would suggest blocking those areas or somehow preventing access...
Let's see...

P.S.
Pretty freakin' cute, though!

she likes being up high.

I have no advice whatsoever, but that does look like an excellent bird-fort.

good spots to lay some eggs!

Galeria said somebody would tell you to try to limit access there and here I am! I would possibly inspect the place every time she goes up there for any eggs. Being 2 she's hormonal and wants a safe place to attempt having babies. If she does happen to lay some there then you just need to leave her to get bored of them or she could lay eggs until she dies. Best thing of course is to just remove her whenever she goes there, she'll learn it's not a good nest spot

Haha yes she is pretty cute and does love her high-up cupboard fort! :)

Thank you for the advice... I'll try to keep her down from there. My first cockatiel that I had as a kid died of laying too many eggs. :(

You could try some towels up there if they are considered 'bad' to try and break the habit? Maybe some brightly coloured pots and pans may put her off, especially if she feels she is sharing her 'spot'.

Remember though green cheeks love exploring! My JoJo climbs into open drawers and hangs! Also, get her used to stepping up on poles, makes it easer to rescue her. I have 4 foot dowels all around the house and use them daily! Quite often, I give JoJo a ride on one, he really seems to enjoy this! It will also curb her nip or step up tendency, which can become a learned habit!

Thank you! I have found that she is definitely happiest when exploring and getting into trouble. As of yet, I have not found anything she thinks it's bad. Everything is something to investigate haha. I will also get her used to stepping up on poles. She already is a bite so I don't want it to become even more of a habit. Also, when rescuing Baby the other day I discovered that my roommate keeps a secret stash of chips up on top of another cupboard. The birds have obviously depleted her stash a bit haha. My guess is maybe they are trying to explore the other cupboards and find more!
