Domnijoe - The Art Studio and Bird Herder's Residence

Thanks, guys, for the compliments. It's gonna get to my head if I'm not careful! LOL!

And here are more pix of Vortex and today's pix of Yvons:

Here's Vortex: hiding by the open door (Is it safe, ma?)

I plan on taking him out for walks once I get the carrier for him. The travel cage for Vortex is too tiny, and he'd chew through some of the stuff I have for it!

Things have now become routine here at Domnijoe! Birds come out around 7:30, then in bed by 9:30-10 pm. Birds are up by 8 am. Food time is random, but I always announce it, and they get excited. Well, Yvons doesn't yet, as he's still learning how things are done here, LOL!

Speaking of Yvons - When I put him to bed, I use a perch to encourage him to step up, and he hops on it right away... then crawls up the perch to my forearm. I then put him in a spot in his cage, and he goes in with no questions. SO far, he's been exceptionally sweet. I hope he stays like this for a while longer. No aggressive bites, no obnoxious squeals since the first few days (as far as I know).... He's been wonderful.

Excellent! Hope he soon starts asking you for head scritches.

It sounds like you really lucked out with Yvons. You took him without an in person meet and greet and he's the kind of CAG that people really want- a mature bird with no obvious neuroses! He must have been well taken care of by his previous human(s).

I agree! I had a horseshoe up my behind when I decided to take him :D. Now lets hope I don't do something stuuuupid in the future to screw up his trust!

His basic personality sounds so sweet and cooperative. He's obviously been very well treated and trained. Being a large parrot  and a CAG the mischief has yet to be seen 😳.
