May I present Alfie the goffins cockatoo. Trust me, the 'fiery' background suits him well:rolleyes::16::white1:

The ever beautiful Lucy (my mom's DYH). She got a heart on her chest because I love this bird so much!:

LOVE the Eyes!!!

There is indeed something special about the eyes of birds. Shows their entire personality. Lucy has very soft and kind eyes (whereas Kiwi has mischief in his eyes lol). Heres the pic I worked off of (please note, miss Lucy is in her late 40's+ and is starting to show her age a bit). You can see she is a beautiful creature inside and out!

You so caught her beauty! The heart of her if you will and expanding on that point by adding it is so fitting. Still, your method of defining eyes takes them steps above. Love what you are doing April.

Thanks. I actually always begin every drawing with the eye(s) of the animal. More than any other means of expression, the eyes always tell the most about any animal (including the human animal)- their mood, their general disposition/personality etc... It's definitely the most important feature (to me as an artist) to get 'right'.

Not sure how many of you are still watching this thread but I did another drawing of Kiwi to commemorate his 10th adoption day. It's based off my favorite photo of him (anyone recognize it?) and just highlights his full...bluefronteddinosaurness in all his glory:D:

Yaaa, wasn't that the day that after his shower, he got into the hair (feather) spiking jell!?!? Just kidding about the jell. Hmmm, I know that photo, but can't seem to place it at the moment. :D
FYI: I have always loved the Photo and now also love the Art!

April, those are all AMAZING! Of course I’m partial to one :), I really love it!

I see you did Alfie lol. Whenever I hear of him, I remember how “difficult” he can be. Not your snuggly Goffins :D!
