green cheek conure closing 1 eye

hi all my 5 year old green cheek conure since thursday has had 1 eye closed he opens it to get to his food etc then rests it,i did take him to a vet on friday he checked him out even listened to his heart and said hes in good condition, there is no discharge from ey slight pink in corner he then gave some drops arthrocam for his eyes twice a day but hes still got it closed should i go back to him and tell him i think the eye drops are not working?

Pain will definitely make him keep eye shut. If he's opening it to eat and move around watch him. Also consider. If infection. How long since eye drops started? Depending upon problem you should see results in a few days.

hi started them friday this friday gone so only 3 days

Hi ive taken 2 times to vet and rang them yesturday they said when they did eye test it was dry eye so they recommended boots very dry eye drops because it only contains. Hydraulic acid .I've just started that 1 yesturday. He's not fluffed up or anything.eating drinking.playing.hes gently giving his eye a rub with his claws. There is no discharge.he opens it When's he's playing and eating just he's on his perch with 1 leg tucked up like he's content

I've uploaded his eye it doesn't look like watery so it's not infection oh I noticed he has 3 little eyelashes its not pink his eye neither

Just a question. In humans with dry eyes sometimes it's recommended to increase room humidity to 30-50%. It helps to keep the eye from drying out quickly. Can you ask your vet if that's an idea? It could help make the drops last longer.

Thanks for all replying well today is a lot cooler here in the UK hes at bottom throwing his toys around still keeps closing the eye im driving 58 miles to see a avian specialist ones near me just seem to be taking my money and not getting defo answers.so I'm taking on a 1 to 2 hour journey tomorrow

It honestly makes me feel bad. My avian vet is less then 45 min mass transit ride with 16 min of that a leisurely walk with a stop for a soda. Nameliss doesn't even mind leisurely walking the mile home instead of the bus. Nameliss loves to people watch listening to voices. I only drive in bad weather, heavy rain or snow (about once every few years). Drive safe.
