Doobie, a Pineapple Green Cheek Conure baby about 6 weeks old (on May 11, 2020)
Just curious. Doobie has recently started a new behavior - head bobbing. Sort of looks like he's dancing. He will only do it in certain places in the house, and never on his cage.
Is this head bobbing a happy behavior? a sexual behavior? an interactive behavior? what does it mean? Does anybody know?
Thanks.

Often this is a way to ask nicely for your attention. Saying hey notice me, or hey I see yiu looking at me, and I see you back.

If its to an object or you it can be practice for regurgitating. Or it can still be communicating. When I walk up to my GCc and say hello she often gives a couple of bobs. Or if she us in her cage and I catch her eye she will bob, for her that means yep I see you and I'd like to come out if the cage

If its done to an object oy

My GCC will bob her head if I bob my head, or sometimes she bobs her head if I play music and encourage her to bob. When she learns to talk I will ask her what it means.
