Hello my name is Jen! I am so glad to finally join this community!
To tell you a little bit about myself, I own 4 birds.
Tango the sun conure. Comet the pineappaple greencheek conure, Echo the yellow sided greencheek conure, and Arrow the cockatiel. All of my babies are between the ages of 4-5 1/2 months old and are all adopted from other friends who have moved away. I spend about half of my day with my birds since I have recently been let go from work due to some problems and I will be going to college later on this year to probably study either to be an RN or Avian Veteranarian.
A few years ago, I lost my interest in birds completely due to a fight that had sprung up between someone who blamed me for their birds flying away when I had nothing to do with it. I had recommended clipping the wings of this person’s cockatiels because I had seen some of the dangerous ways that this person was letting the birds live and I knew if the wings were cut, some of the dangers would not be that big of a threat no more and I could live in peace a little but this person decided to not listen to me then gave up on training the birds and forgot about ever clipping their wings and then the birds had flown away and I got blamed and was in bad shape for a while even though I knew it wasn’t my fault. I would think if only I had stepped in and taken those birds away they would have been okay. The person wouldn’t even let me near the birds but would ask my opinion because I loved animals and would generally look up information.
Anyways, I had recently had my heart stolen by Tango, he just opened my heart back up to how loving and rewarding being with birds can be and honestly I realize I should have never stopped liking birds in the first place. I would do anything for my birds and honestly they are all spoiled with toys and treats and as much cuddles as they want no matter how much they might bite. If any of you would like to ask me about my birds and my experiences or just chat I am here anytime
