I've seen these for sale online before, but never in-person at a pet shop. Scott's correct, all they are are plain old wooden Dowel-Rods that are made into varying diameters with either a lathe (if commercially sold) or you can also use a Dremel and one of the sanding attachments and do it yourself...Any Walmart sells all different diameters of Dowel-Rods for $1 or less a piece, all the way up to 2" I believe, depending on the size of your bird. And they are all I believe 2' long, so you can at least 2 perches out of each Dowel-Rod that you buy. I've made a few similar perches from 1" diameter wooden Dowel Rods, the 1" diameter gives you enough to sand-down into varying diameters to prevent Bumblefoot, and also gives you more than enough to drill a hole into the end and down the Dowel to insert a threaded metal rod (the small, metal rods you can buy at any Lowes in the nuts/bolts/hardware drawers that are threaded for a nut but don't have a head on them)...You simply use a saw to cut the Dowel into the correct length for your perch, then use a sanding attachment on your Dremel (assuming you don't have a Lathe), I used one of the round/cone shaped attachments that are made out of stone/sandstone or whatever they are to just sand down equal areas the whole way around the Dowel, just like in your photo...Then you go to Lowes to the aisle with all of the many drawers where you can buy individual hardware pieces and buy a little metal rod that is threaded but has no head, and that is the correct diameter to fit down into the middle of the end of the Dowel, and then a matching size wing-nut and washer for the rod, making sure that you buy the kind of washer that has the correct diameter hole to fit snuggly around the rod but that is completely flat and at least as large in diameter as the Dowel Rod, if not larger in diameter...You need 2 of the washers for each perch, one for each side of the cage bars...Then after you finish making the Dowel into a varying diameter perch like your photos, you simply drill a hole into the end of the Dowel/Perch that will fasten to the cage bars that is a diameter smaller than the threaded metal rod and that goes as deep as half the length of the rod, so that half of it is inside of the dowel, and the other half is sticking out of the end...Then you thread the metal rod securely into the end of the dowel/perch, leaving about half of it sticking out of the end of the perch...Then you're done! You simply put one of the large, flat washers over the rod so it's snug against the end of the perch/dowel, then place the perch where you want it in the cage, with the metal rod poking through the cage bars from the inside of the cage, and the first washer flat against the inside of the cage bars, then you put the second large, flat washer around the rod on the outside of the cage so it's flat against the outside of the cage bars, then screw the wing-nut onto the rod and tighten it against the washer on the outside of the cage bars to secure it...Done.
Costs about $5 total to make 2 perches...
