The oven cleaning will kill African Greys and exotic birds, in general, more or less immediately. If one has to put their oven cleaning on, do it while the African Grey or any other exotic birds, or pets, in general, are out of the house. If one is going on vacation and is boarding their African Grey Parrot or other exotic bird(s) somewhere away from their house, that's a good time to put the oven cleaner on.
