Howdy y'all!

I'm Wild Child, first time poster, long time lurker. I'm momma to a growing, fiesty, confusing, amusing, likes-to-scream-his-head-off-even-when-I'm-standing-next-to-him little guy called Hunny- he's a sun conure. He's a 1yr and 3 months old, and I swear he's going through his bird version of the terrible 2's...or equivalent of a human teenager experiencing a hormone imbalance. You get the picture.

During the year I'm a teacher, so this is my first summer off with Hunny and I think we're driving each other bonkers. But alas, everyday is a learning-to-coexist kind of day. I'm still trying to figure out his quirks, what makes him angry, and what makes him happy, and he's trying to figure out whether he wants to be inside his cage or outside. He can't decide.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my introduction rant! I'm off to submerge myself in the help forums to gather the wisdom and knowledge you fine folks have to offer!

Peace, Love, and Happy Birds :orange:

Welcome, come on in?

Nice to see another Texan coming on board.:)

The conure experts will be here shortly. It could be that he was used to you working and now that you are home all the time it has upset his routine. Just a guess as I haven't been owned by a conure for many years.

Conure expert no, conure owner no, conure's pet sure...

What behavior are you seeing, the more you describe the best us conure's pets can tell you what your owner wants......sounds, motions etc.

Welcome aboard, Wild Child! Hunny sounds like a typical young conure, full of life and exploration.

You'll find a wealth of information and advice, but don't be shy about posting specific questions. We're here to help!!

Welcome to you, Yep that is a conure! I spent three months in Austin quite a few years back, and I did not believe what everyone was telling me about fire ants! And yes, well this story for another time!

Good News!

They say that the Crazy Ant invasion is killing off the Fire Ants:)

At least I think that's supposed to be good news

Hello, and welcome.

Hey, *I'm* a Texan, too!

That gets you an extra welcome!

You sound like a great parront!
