How old is my budgie?

I know the basic rules for determining budgie age, but I could use some help from someone with more experience.

1. Teddy does not have bars on top of his head, but there are some black specks. Is that just how he looks, or could they be left over if he recently lost his bars?

2. I do see white around his eye. Is that his iris, or is his iris too dark to see still?

Don't know age but very handsome budgie. Opaline light green if not mistaken.

I just looked up opaline and he fits the description, and it said opalines tend to have white irises! So I suppose that answers my question about his eyes. Thank you! I wish there was a way to tell approximate age after 6-8 months...
