Did George go through a biting stage? There is another member here whose Senegal occasionally bites him hard enough to draw blood, but the bird was neglected before he got him so I'm sure that's a big cause of it. Also I read some older threads where people were saying Senegals are unpredictable and when they bite they dig into your flesh and twist their beaks.
I can't picture Peanut doing such a thing, she's such a happy go lucky bird and has never tried to bite anyone.
George has always tried to bite when he's frustrated. Always a finger. He's never bitten anything else. I'm fast enough and know him well enough now that I pull the finger away before he bites it and I say "NOOOOO!" and do a circle with my finger in front of him and following it around seems to immediately calm him and make him stop wanting to bite the finger. Things like putting him in his cage when its not bed time, making him step up too many times in succession, make him lunge at me from time to time. It's just his way of showing frustration. He's never bitten me hard enough to draw blood except for once when he was in heat. Usually its more of a frustrated pinch and doesn't hurt. I think the odds of getting a senegal that bites hard except in rare circumstances is unusual but every bird is an individual.
