I found an egg......

Looks like my quaker laid an egg. I don't think a budgie can make an egg this big.

She is staying in that cage more, but seems to be ignoring it.

I replied to your other post about your romantic budgie but you may not have seen it - i got a similar thing going on here with my lorikeet rooster and princess parrot hen. Eggs would not surprise me one bit!!

Imagine if it was viable......Abudgies living in the moment complete silliness, chirping and derping.....and a quakers growling disaproval of EVERYTHING. My quaker though looks like the girl in the poster at 25 seconds in I bet.

2nd egg.

I asked the budgie if it was gonna make an honest woman out of my quaker....he climbed in a bowl and chicken scratched out seeds. I take it as a mixed signal.

I just knew all that sordid stuff that goes on in that "man cave" of yours was going to have a bad affect on those innocent birds. I'm calling CPS. We have photographic evidence now that your kids are out of control!

She was forced into it by a preditory budgie.....

Seams to have stopped at two I'll wait a week or so before I remove to make sure she's over it.

I hope you have some Calcivit supplement on hand in case she starts looking egg-bound. Put some in her water and if she looks egg bound put a few drops directly in her beak. I lost a budgie from egg binding and it's pretty awful. Very painful death for the female and terrible to watch for her parronts.

She was a pretty careless mother until now...so I think she has finished her "egg cycle" so now I'm just gonna wait a week or so before I start taking them away. But I doubt a budgie (Australia) could get a Quaker (South america) Preggers.

As south park once put it, pig and elephant DNA just don't match.
