Mark, are you also checking other sites besides craigslist for listings? I googled red macaw for sale (I suppose that is how a non bird person might describe her), and found listings on places like hoobly etc. Far away from what it seems you are, but they might list her there if they have family or are out of your area? Also on a site called oodle someone put a greenwing up 5 days ago.

That is actually a GREAT idea, some of us could put up want adds on sites asking for a red or green wing macaw with our phone numbers and then when we get calls we could contact you and tell you their information since if someone has her and has also seen you are looking they may be trying to sell her without you finding out because they are wanting more than what they think you will pay....

I'm at work and haven't had time to do anything yet, but I will wait for Mark to let us know his thoughts before I go any farther with the idea. Maybe someone who has his number could call him, or PM him?

Just thinking out loud, I try to think like a POS when the possibility of dealing POS arises, but maybe not post too much detailed informative info about Maggie ( outside of basic description) as to not educate said POS if they did in fact try to resell her?

BC IMO any informed buyer would ask certain questions about the bird and a lack of answers might trigger their suspicions it's a shady acquisition on the sellers part.

I'd definitely search for "red parrot" on for-sale/found sites. I think the layperson would be more inclined to call her a parrot than a macaw.

Do you think the kid that keeps crank calling you has any information? It seems that kids like this one typically move on to harassing other people quicker than this. It seems suspicious to me that he keeps doing it. Do you think maybe he knows something and is playing a game? Not sure how you could check it out but he is a common theme here... Any friends that are cops to pay a visit to the building to see if they could hear anything?

He's just a pot smoking little troll. When I was handing out flyers, he and his buddies were sitting around the front of the house getting stoned. They don't appear to go to school...
