I have a 2 year old male Galah named Charlie. I bought him this toy at the store a few months back that had some rubber strings attached to them. Well after the toy destroyed the rubber remained and I noticed that he liked to chew on them so I started tying them up in his cage and he would immediately spend all his time trying to untie them. Eventually the rubber broke down and broke into small pieces and could no longer be tied up.
I was looking for more rubber strings when I noticed some people saying rubber is not safe for birds. Is this true? I have no idea what kind of rubber it was. I would assume that it was safe as it was a actually bird toy bought in the bird section.
In general, I would like to find some more foraging toys for him. He's not really into most of the toys I've gotten him. So far the things he's liked the most has been the rubber and chewing on q tips. Any suggestions on toys that will keep him occupied?
