Preparing to be a bird owner
Hi! I’m new here, though I was a member many years ago, but can’t find my account!

Just can’t seem to find the answer to this:
If one day I were to have 4 budgies (all male probably) and 2 bourkes, would it be amazing to keep them all together in a 3x1x2 metres aviary? Or would bourkes live in fear and it would absolutely be better for everyone to have them in separate but obviously smaller flight cages?

Excited to be back šŸ¤—

*edit: I looked it up and in inches is 118Ɨ39Ɨ79

As someone who has owned both species together - if you aren't going to breed them (I guess not because all budgies would be likely males, not sure about Bourkes), I think it's fine. In my case a single budgie was a bit annoying for Bourkes because budgies are much more social but after getting another budgie, they basically lived their own life in tolarance for the Bourkes. Also one of my Bourkes developed some kind of sympathy for our budgies
I mean I can't guarantee everything in 100% because it also depends on the individual personalities but from my experience I would predict that they would simply tolerate each other and interact mostly with own species - or maybe just a small dislike at the begining because of budgies trying to socialize with Bourkes but they would stop after realizing that their species is a better mate (at least that's how it was in my case with the first budgie)

Just if you ever decide to breed, I would recommend to seperate them. Or if my prediction is wrong and one of the birds has a personality that might result in problems because not everything is always perfect (basically you would have to observe them how they get along)
