Hi so I've had my Alex for a few years now and last year we decided to get her a male. This is the first time she's laid eggs since we've gotten her. When they hatch I'd like to hand raise them, are there any good websites for advice? Also what will I need to buy to prepare for them? Thanks
Breeding is not for the faint of heart, a complex endeavor with potential for mayhem and heartache. Being responsible for the life you create means possible intercession if the parents prove lazy and ineffective. Round the clock feeding for a long while is possible. A great place to begin is our Breeding/Raising Parrots subforum. Please read this detailed narrative written by an experienced breeder: http://www.parrotforums.com/breeding-raising-parrots/54987-before-i-start-breed.html
You may find excellent off-site Alex enthusiast and breeding forums. Impossible to be overprepared!!
Good luck if you proceed, keep us advised of developments.
