Hi everyone,
Boomer was his normal self last night. When I uncovered him this morning, there are things that make me worry:
1. He did not do his big morning poop, just a tiny one. I weighed him at 103g. When I weighed him 3 days ago, he was 108g. That's a 5g difference in the course of 3 days.
2. For breakfast, he ignored his veggie/fruit mash but he did eat a slice of apple. He's drinking a lot more than usual. 30 minutes later, he would not eat an almond. He loves almonds.
3. He also seems more still and sleepy. He did not even follow me to the next room. He would usually fly to me or start his contact calls. He just sat on his perch.
4. He usually regurgitates for me but it is more the consistency of white, thick quaker oats and never a lot. This morning, he's regurgitated twice almost too quickly, and its more like a clear, liquidy substance.
Right now he is just very quiet, resting on my leg as I am typing. I wonder if he's sleepy because I kept him up last night (kept blowing my nose every 30 mins in the other room but I'm sure he could hear me). I left a voicemail with my vet to see if they have an open schedule for me. Should I be worried? Am I over-reacting maybe? I really don't want to expose him to sick birds at the vet unless I really have to...
PS. Also I am very careful about the chemicals and objects I use at home. I am well read on what is toxic to birds so I'm sure its not anything like that. Nothing new was introduced. etc.
