Thanks Birdman, good to know that DYH are not normally pluckers. I was able to go back and see him on Sunday for a couple of hours. He seemed about the same but did attempt to talk a couple of times. Just no full words. "Hi Cap.." etc. I have asked that they move his cage apart from the bird next to him, it is the yellow naped Amazon and it is non too friendly and tries to nip at Captain through the cages. We were able to scoot the cages apart about 6 inches so there is no chance of Biter getting Captain. I feel so bad for him, I'm sure he doesn't understand any of this and couldn't help but think he was looking at me as if to say "why don't you do something?" crazy I know, but..
I will continue to go up and visit him as often as I am allowed. I sent the director an email regarding allowing one of our maintanence guys being allowed to adopt him for his wife. She had a DYH that died a year ago and would love to take Captain in. She doesn't work and is home alot so it would be a good place for him with lots of love and attention. Hopefully, they will consider it.
