Hi Monica from another Monica!
Those are cute pics! I would suggest investing in an aviator harness though and teaching Pipa to wear the harness while outside. It's not really a good idea to take birds outside unrestrained, clipped or flighted, unless they are recall trained and have a *strong* recall.
I have a video of Charlie wearing a Feather Tether, although I also own the Aviator Harness.

Here's a list I put together of safe foods, although it's not complete! I haven't used *all* the foods on the list, but have used several! I usually make a mash recipe that includes grains, legumes, vegetables and some fruits and feed that to my birds. For you, it would probably be easier to share what you eat, giving different fruits and veggies every day, feeding some healthy grains and legumes whenever you eat them. Things like that.

As far as the nipping? Ya, they can, but at the same time, they may still bite or nip years down the road. It may help to teach him target training and try to always have some foot toys, beads, bottle caps, leather strips or pieces of leather or other things to play with while you have him with you. That way, you can try to keep stuffing his mouth with objects, keeping his beak too busy to nip you!
This thread, if you scroll down, there are 4 videos of target training macaws, although one macaw is being taught to target a stick while the other is learning to touch a syringe. Same base training, different outcomes.
