That intensity of red still amazes me! I'm guessing he's probably most closely related to the
australis subspecies, if not the
molinae.

As far as another conure, well, there's no telling. We don't know the birds personalities, likes, dislikes, etc so there's no way for anyone to accurately judge whether or not two birds will get along until you get them. In fact, even if two birds don't get along within the first week, that's no guarantee that they wont ever get along. Likewise, even if two birds have gotten along for years, one day they may decide to hate each other.
If you do decide to get a second bird, please look into quarantine and be prepared for twice the amount of food, toys, space, vet bills, etc. If Tony hasn't been to an a-vet yet, get him to one to make sure he's healthy. If you get a second bird, before introducing them, make sure that the new bird has been to an a-vet as well. You can't simply take them to an a-vet, have the a-vet look them over and say "Yes, they appear healthy". They need fecals/gram stains and, at minimum, basic blood work to determine health.
