Penny is sick, I've been holding back making a thread

Had a rough morning.
Anyway Ta-dah went to 83 grams!!! I read a breeder blog that their females went to the 90s when carrying eggs. Sigh...
The normal range for GCC is.60-80 grams. Ta-dah has always been 74, except when sick dropped to 65.

O tried to check poop, they still not perfect earlier in the day, but still much improved from before. She has trashed her cage since paper change so will see tomorrow.

Everybody else seems fine. All I did today was enjoy their very sweet lovely selves, they were very snuggly just what I needed. Still on doxycycline.

Just for fun pic

As a funny story. I woke at 5 am, dark, let the dogs out it was foggy and light rain. My one butt head dog Alf didn't come back in. So I went out was following him calling his name. Alf, Alf, then I got mad and yelled Alfie! Turns out I was following an armadillo ! It jumped 3 feet in the air and screeched when I screamed. Took off in a mad dash , bounced off my well house wall and screamed into the night. It was so funny, tho I'm sorry to have spooked him! Turn around and Alfie was following me follow the armadillo! Of course he dashed off , cuz he is a butt head and thinks that's funny! I lured him back inside with dog treats, he has me trained.
Really armadillo are awesome! And truly they jump so high when spooked, so I didn't exaggerate.

Last year I got see 3 babies following their mother, don't know what happened to the 4th. Truly fascinating animals. Always have 4 identical babies!

Never know what you will find while walking in the fog a 4 am in the morning! Happy to hear that those who are to be inside are and those that are to be outside are as well!!!

I always liked the commercial where the old lady has a raccoon come in the house and she thinks it’s her cat.

At work (El Segundo Ca) because I worked nights I saw a surprising amount of wildlife.
Skunks, I found them to be really cute. I just kept my distance.
Raccoons.
Opossum.
We had a resident pair of Canada geese. Boy the messes they made, the powers that be were not happy about that.
A small red fox that was a regular appearance between buildings.

Laughing, the lady bringing the racoon instead of the cat is all to real.

I love the creatures you have seen at work!!!

When I used to kayak camp, I would get up up before dawn and saw amazing things.
The weirdest was hundreds of black vultures lining the boat ramp railing and boat house. The sound of their feathers slithering, .... shifting ....and sliding, is the spookiest sound I've ever heard!!@ shivers! There was just the hint of dawn in the air, and so quiet and still...that those feathers sounded like slithering snakes....
Amazing plus spooky.

Ta-dah poops fantastic!
I hope I have made a believer out of you all, a little yogurt with Acidophilus, Lactobacillus helps! All that liquid she had didn't have to be kidney issues, it can be a form of diarrhea in birds.

Ta-dah my Green Cheek has been in extended antibiotics, first 30 days of azithromyacin, followed by doxycycline ( still on) . This upset her flora and caused diarrhea.

The poop now has very little normal amount of wet around them. Urates are nice and creamy.

The second picture for comparison is abnormal, way to wet, urates not good, fecal matter fragmented

Laura, I’m just catching up on your roller coaster. I’m glad Ta-Dah seems to be on the mend, sorry about the hormones and also your MG flare up. I’m hoping for easier days ahead for you.

Certainly am happy to hear that things continue to look better!

When all of this turns into a Sunny Day, you may want to consider working with your CAV to develop a Paper for their organization! Share the knowledge kind of thing.

Thanks Inger!
Sailboat, CAV has shared some, and is a believer about yogurt. Its something they used to do. I'm praying this is the last treatment!!!!!!! So far so good!!!

I shared a taste of my Carmel dipping sauce with Penny. She was making crazy eyes for it!

Sweet treats for sweet Penny! Hoping for sustained good health following their last round of meds and the IV treatment for you, Laura - you and your flock certainly deserve it after all your hard work and worry and dedication!

That picture of Penny is so cute! She looks like a little cartoon with those expressive eyes.

Lol! I gave her some apple but I was dipping my apple in Carmel. So she walked over and tasted it and her eye practically bugged out!! So I took away and gave her a taste. Pure focus in that picture!

I had a hard time keeping it away as I finished my treat.

Its good to see her so bright eyed and happy!! It was a long haul getting her well! As you all know

That's an awesome future POTM submission!

Thanks Scott! Penny is almost always on my shoulder, as she is right now . She is a sweetie. But harder to take pictures of.

Doxycycline continues...for 30 more days??? Have to check...its a long treatment !!!

The flock is doing well. Pikachu continues to have periodically swelling by his eye...but overall things seem good on the Doxycycline.

I spent the morning trying to get a covid vaccine appointment. Success!!!!!@@ i get my first shot next week!!!! So excited!!!!!

Congratulations!
Assure that you allow for a little downtime the day following.

Very Soon, you will become part of the "I'm Vaccinated" Group!!!

Holding a sign for you: Welcome!!! :D

Woo hoo, Laura!!! This is awesome. Now, birdies, keep it up so your Mama can take care of herself too. Okay?

Oh, and I love wet birdie pictures. Few things in life cuter than that! :)

What is that wet birdie looking so smug about? After all the troubles she & her flockmates keep putting you through? Do you think it's just because she knows she has the world's most devoted human looking after her?

aww, I am a devoted, and have been such a worried mom!! What is this almost 3 month fight to get them well??!!!

Things are steady as we go right now.
...but a heck of long time of doxycycline treatment ahead of still

I'm Cleaning, and cleaning, it takes a lot of time to clean every single thing in so many cages, and outside I want this germ banished from our lives forever!@

Pikachu has draining from left nostril and his swelling by his eye is worse again ....ugh!!!!

Pic of the day
Parrots everywhere, this is my view as post I on the forum, or some variations of parrots covering my body, head to toe! , Pikachu on my shoulder so can't see him,
