I completely understand your concern for leaving your budgies with babysitters. I feel the same way. Most people don’t have experience with birds. Birds are so curious, and at times it puts them in danger. Because of the diseases that are very contagious with birds it makes things even more challenging because you can’t really have a parrot boarding place either.

Stormy, I am so sorry to hear about this tragic event. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your flock. You are a friend to budgies the world over with all the help you’ve given people on this forum. You are not stupid or to blame. Your pain is an indicator of how much you truly loved Pepper. As you walk through this dark tunnel of grief, know that there is a light at the end of it. And when you reach it, your sadness will give way to the beautiful memories you shared, as impossible as that seems from where you’re standing now. It’s so hard and may be for a while. And that’s ok. I hope that soon you’ll be able to show yourself grace enough to process the shock and all that comes with it. ❤️🙏🏻
