Pet sitting advice:keep at home or take to friend

I’m going out of town. 3x this month. I have had my conure 3 weeks. He is 7 months old.
Trip 1 is 3 days
Trip 2 is 2 days
Trip 3 5 days.
I planned to take him to a friends house for trip 1 and 3 so he is not alone. He interacted very well with the family when they visited him.
Then I was told and read they are happier staying at home in their current environment with a sitter visiting for 30 min.
Then I read to socialize them so they won’t get nervous with new sounds or sites.
Can I get recommendations?

If it were me, I would have the pet sitter come to your house. Going to their house and learning the new environment can be stressfull for him. Parrots do not adjust that quickly to new environments, and you have not had him for that long. But I would not limit the sitter to 30 minutes. If it were me I would see if they could come to your house multi times thru out the day. The more the better. Just my personal thoughts.

Yes it better for your bird emotionally to stay home. That said how well is your bird to adapting to change. Some became more upset for 30 minute popins. Becoming sad when left alone especially that young. It's one thing to be alone for work or grocery. Its another for 23 hours alone. If it's not to late take him over early. Leave for an overnight visit. Pick him up midday. See how everyone, (him especially) are doing. Evaluate carefully. This is from personal experience. I had to have surgery. I was going to be gone several weeks. I had to find a family with no kids on short notice. I did what I described. Family #3 was a hit. Such a hit that that they came for random visits until I changed locations. Everyone was happy to see each other. The decision is for everyone to be happy. Be aware. Birdie parents worry like heck. Often needing tranquilizers away from their feathered babies.
