Question about cages, new here!

Sorry if I'm a total newb.. -.- anyway, I have two sun conures and a baby green cheeked conure. Tikko is the baby, he doesn't have a cage, I mean, well, he does.. He just hated it so I put it away. He lives in my closet (I'll show a picture) and sleeps in his carrier, I bring him everywhere with me and he enjoys it a lot, he is fully flighted but I also have a harness for him. Please let me know if you have any tips, mostly he hates cages and I'm fine with him living free but im curious to know if this causes any behaviours I should be concerned about. He has been nipping a lot lately, biting others tut nipping mostly with me, he is normally extremely affectionate and always says "tikko!" He was born around May of this year. Thanks! :41:

You may want to reintroduce Tikko to a cage as giving him reign of your closet may cause you to think you have a moth infestation, only to find Tikko has developed an affinity for your clothes.....many conures are little termites when it comes to clothes.....I learned a long time ago to change into one of my bird shirts any time I was letting the flock out of their cages.....

I would look into a cage that has a top that opens... I recently bought Loco (my yellow sided gcc) a new cage with play top. Heres a pic...



Here's a picture of his cage, this was at the bird store I bough it from, this is the floor sample. I highly recommend this cage. Loco's old cage didn't have a top that opens, and he didn't like standing on the top, im sure it bothered his feet, so I bought him a rope perch and attached it to the top of the cage.. hes been much happier since I got this new cage.

I would definitely try introducing your little guy to a cage and give him lots and lots of toys and a variety of perches.

Thanks! I do really like that cage, I'm just so picky about them -.- and the little bugger has destroyed three designer purses already :52: :11:..l he is so lucky he is adorable ! >.<
