I've noticed that lately my budgie has been sneezing a lot for the past month of so, a couple times a day as far as I've seen. Sometimes let's out a string of sneezes which makes me think it's some sort of respitory infection. I watched him for other signs of illness like lethargy and shallow breathing but he seems really active and happy most of the time. I was going to give a poop sample to the vet to test, but because he seemed so normal and the test was very expensive (£200) I decided to hold off on it but I'm thinking of just going through with it to be sure (or just take him for a checkup). Does anyone else's parrots do this? How can you tell if it's normal behaviour or something to be concerned about?

Sneezing can be a blocked nostril which is simple. Or it can indicate a respiratory problem problem. A blocked nostril is often a sign of it. The problem with birds is that they hide being ill. A vet check is best for both of you.
Of course a vet visit is never a bad idea, but just as another thought; one of my budgies was very sensitive to dust. The dust from pine shavings was the worst. I found this out because I had occasionally raised some baby quail in my room with the birds and used pine shavings as bedding. My poor bird would have weeks of sneezing all the time but be otherwise healthy. It would come and go. I finally realized it was the pine dust and I immediately stopped keeping quail chicks in the room and deep cleaned. It took a week or so for him to get it out of his system but then he was totally fine. I was always careful about dust after that and my bird was just fine! Hope your baby is okay too
