Hey everyone! I have an 11 month old Lovebird I bought when she was 5 months old. She has been very aggressive and I have many bite marks on my hands. Sometimes however, she is a Love and just wants to cuddle...

But back to my question. She has been sleeping/snoozing more than normal, and also not eating as much as she used to. Whenever I talk or play with her she seems normal, but whenever I’m going about daily activities, she just sits and closes her eyes. I live near an avian vet, but to be blunt they tend to charge more than what’s expected. Any advice on what I should look out for?

Any symptoms should concern you, and worth paying for a vet visit. Make sure she is getting proper rest with her bed time the same as a little after sunset.

Is she maybe going through a moult? It takes a LOT of energy to grow all those new feathers. Could be worth a visit to the vet anyway, as everyone here will say , birds are extremely good at hiding illness often until it’s too late.

Sorry friend, but me I would have Kiwi looked at. By the time we realize the parrot is acting differently it is frequently well into a serious health issue. Parrots are prey animals and instictively hide illness so they dont stick out of the flock and become lunch.

Thank you all for the replies! I don’t know how this posted in the tos section. I’m using my phone so I accidentally hit it. But thank you all! She is doing very well so far. I do believe she may be molting, but I’m going to make a check up appointment with the doctor just to be sure nothing else is wrong.
