I love Meadow and Lily :)

I'm planning on naming my next bird Smudge, and in the future I'd want to use Huckleberry, Clementine, Spike, Benjamin, Willow, Iris, Rosebay, Steve, Phoebe, Molly, Annie, or Firefly.

1. My first bird was a sweet little budgie that I got when I was only 3 years old. He was my best friend, lived to be 13 years old, & is the reason I love birds so much. Of course, as a 3-year-old, I named him Pretty Blue, which was quickly shortened to just Blue. He was beautiful.

2. Before we went to pick up our lovebird from his breeder, I asked my little one (then 8) what we should name him. The first & immediate answer was Button, & it was perfect. He also has a middle name, so it’s Button Terwilliger. And so many nicknames…Butters, Butterbean, Bean, Beanie, Squeak Cheeks, Butthole (when he’s being sassy), & on and on.

3. Ava came with her name, & she says it often & knows it well, so we didn’t want to change it. My daughter mentioned that the red & yellow on her shoulders, along with the green, looks like a Doppler radar. So, she received a middle name as well…Ava Nimbus, after rain clouds. The nicknames are coming…so far, there’s Ava the Aviator, Avian Ava, but mostly Baby Girl. 😊
