They're lucky their bird didn't get seriously scalded! Burns are incredibly painful even minor ones. Personally, I don't find it very funny to see a bird dousing himself in hot chocolate. At the very least, that poor bird will need the kind of bath they won't enjoy at all. Sorry if I'm being a killjoy but injured birds are nothing to laugh at. It can be heartbreaking.

I was just looking at some of the older posts in this thread again. I wish "BirdTalk" magazine was around...I've only owned birds since 2022. There seems to be an increase in people owning more pets that are not cats or dogs (I say this as a loving dog owner).

I had bed bugs and had to throw out ALLLLLLLLLL my magazines. I was not thrilled, as I had some magazines, like old National Geographic and Bird Talk, that I wanted to read again.

Oh, rheashard2... OMG I'm so sorry. What a horrible loss.
I have only myself to blame for my Bird Talk losses. I had a couple of boxes of them, and gave them to a dear friend when I moved. I'm so glad I have the Rb articles. IF ONLY I had saved some of Dr. Lindstrom's contributions. I never dreamed he'd be our vet someday.
Maybe I could write the Bird Talk business... it still exists, and offer them big bucks...?

Did Rb like to look at pictures in the magazine? Then have you give a story or read article aloud? I can picture him waiting for story time. Nameliss prefers crochet or beadwork.
