Things to have before getting a parrot.

I was working on an article about things to buy before getting a pet parrot.
In a perfect world what would be all the things I would need to buy (maybe even suggestions on where to buy) and have in my house before getting a pet parrot. I'm thinking of Macaw.

Since you are considering writing an article, why not list what you think should be on that list and their order, and then provide it to the forum for comment? I would recommend that you do it in a near final form.
