Alright! This should be a fun list. Let's see how much our conure's have (or not have) in common. I'll start!

Watering can
Cellphone
CDs and DVDs
Spray bottles
White socks
Vacuum cleaner
Shoe tree (goes inside shoes)
Aviator harness
Washing my drinking glass in the sink
Picking my nose (oh he hates this)

Your turn!

Well, Skittles arch nemesis is the tape measure, hands down. Here are the rest, in order.

Anyone who comes near me
Peaches (my cockatiel)
Spray bottles
CDs/DVDs

Oh, and feet.

How odd that both Boomer and Skittle hate CDs and DVDs. Must be a conure thing. The spray bottles are sort of my fault. Back when I didn't know any better (and thanks to a misleading online article), I briefly used it as a training implement. Not proud of it :( It never worked anyway and he ended up hating it. Good thing he still adores water.

Same thing here. I used it for that same reason. A friend of mine gave me the idea, she used to spray her cat. Using fear as a training tactic never works. I know that now as well. I've learned the best training methods are setting limits, consistency and positive reinforcement.

I think the CDs and DVDs are a conure thing. It's mostly DVDs to be honest, and video games. I rarely listen to CDs. All my music is on my PC.

Yup video game CDs! I would get bitten the moment I crack open a video game case. He is fine with me playing, he just hates the case and the CDs lol!

Yea, its when I go to open the case and take the disc out, that's when he throws a fit. He goes on alert when I grab the case then throws his tantrum.

I do have to say though his most annoying habit is that whenever I vaccuum - right after I finish, he goes over to his cage and starts to throw things on the floor. Chewed up paper, discarded food etc. So I've given up vaccuuming when he's out of his cage. It's pointless.

My favourite thing ever-

I bought Kyo a toy crock (the shoe) that's about an inch big. She absolutely DESPISES it. I just say she has good fashion sense :P

Other than that, there aren't a lot of things she hates. Only technology. She wants all cell phones and cameras to die.. and she may or may not hate my husband, we haven't figured that strange relationship out yet.

In order:
- Pill bottles that rattle will get poofed head feathers, lunging and lots of squawking every time. Originally just Tootsie but Rosco picked it up off of her.
- Unfamiliar objects in my hands.
- Doorbell.
- Me talking to my phone.
- My phone ringing.
- Not getting some of whatever it is I am eating. Especially if they see Sidney get a bite.

Paper towels
Toilet paper
The Christmas tree
Paper towel or toilet paper tubes(when they're empty)
Fans
Stuffed animals(I have some moose stuffed animals)
Huge cups
Paper
Bows
Owl decorations
Certain pillow cases
Kiwi
Cantaloupe
My oven mits

The list goes on.

Cameras, both conures are playing and as soon as the camera comes out its like 'get that thing thats watching me out of here'.

@StarryEyedGirl Um, you forgot the santa cap. hehe. he hates the santa cap.

@kyoto I can't argue with Kyo on the technology. I HATE cell phones. I think it's more the people on them that drive me batty. Especially in stores. I say 'excuse me' politely because they are blocking the aisle and they give me this look like "hey, i'm on the phone" and it's like I disturbed them. It's times like this I wouldn't mind having Skitty with me. LOL

@JamesC Skittles will go off when the phone rings, doorbell or a knock on the door. He will fly over to the perch nearest the door and go on guard. I don't think he hates it necessarily, but is rather 'alerting me'. But pill bottles, he will make 'single cheeps' but I think he's more reacting to the sound than hating it. Anything 'foreign' in my hands is also a no-no. Usually, when I bring something 'new' into the house, I show it to him and tell him it's okay, it tends to work after a few times.

@ceegull I've actually got a video I took last night of Skittles. He was on my desk chewing on a tshirt and once he saw I was recording him he went and did his little 'defense dance'. If I could actually record every silly or adorable thing he has done then I could amuse myself for hours. It's interesting though, there have been quite a few times I've been able to take his picture. Maybe it's because I do that from a distance?

Lol these are just cracking me up. Birds are so random sometimes.

Aviator harness
My daughter's insulin pump

I can't think of anything else. He's still young so I am sure other things will come up that he hates.

GCC hates being touched when eating his daily serving of seeds. He will lift wings and peck hard making some angry sounds. They must be so delicious.

My husband..LOL

There are things that he is unsure of, so he just avoids them all together.

@Takontiki Insulin pump? LOL. They pick the weirdest things to pitch a fit over. Some things that you'd think they will hate, they either love or aren't bothered by and then some things you would think they'd be okay with are simply evil and unwelcome.

LOL. I honestly think he is somewhat jealous of it because whenever its out we give it our utmost attention (after all it is a medical device and we have to ensure we are giving proper doses of insulin). Tiki doesn't understand why our attention wanes from him to the pump when it's not even cute.

I assume it's an internal one? That's what my mom has. She has to carefully calculate hers as well. Unfortunately, she doesn't eat properly and just relies on the pump to counteract her high blood sugar.

But that does make sense though. The more I concentrate on something other than Skittles, the more he acts up. My neighbor thinks its funny whenever we are on the phone and I start reprimanding him. She'll go "what's he doing?" and when I tell her, she chuckles. I'm sure for some people it sounds cute and funny. But it gets old. Don't get me wrong, a sun conure is my ideal pet. I wanted a bird I wouldn't get bored with.

I love Peaches to death, but she's always so angelic. Never bites, never does anything wrong or get into anything she shouldn't. Skittles more than makes up for it though.
