Thoughts on having a handicapped budgie: worst case scenario of Sunshine’s surgery

For those of you who are still following this thread, the necropsy of Sunshine’s tumour just came back - my mom just texted me. It was an aggressive sarcoma, so she was nearing death because of how quickly it was spreading. I’m so sad for her, and I wish I had known sooner and that I could have helped her.

Even though she didn’t make it through her operation, I am glad that she died peacefully by just falling asleep under anaesthetic, as opposed to a long and painful death from that awful tumour.

I’m glad to hear that you now know what caused Sunshine’s sudden decline. I’m sure it’s still a tender topic, as I know you loved her. I hope this gives you some reassurance that there really was nothing you could have done to help - beyond what you did, getting her to a vet as soon as you realized there was a possible problem. You’re a caring parront, and she had a great life with you.
