Two Caiques Looking for a New Home

We are looking to rehome our two caiques located in NYC. One male one is female ,about 3.5 years of age. They are in great health and extremely intelligent and entertaining. They get along great and share the same cage. Unfortunately, we don't have the time and attention for them that they need and deserve. We are looking to give them away for free along with all their cages and toys so the new owner would not need to purchase anything additional. The only requirement is that the individual has had experience with birds and enough room and time to care for them them. Pictures are below and happy to answer any questions.

Have they been around little people (younger children-pre teens) at all just out of curiosity?
Also, if you end up putting them on craigs-list at all, *please* throw up an adoption price. There is a bit of an epidemic on craigs-list on the east coast with "bird rescues" that take in free/cheap birds, just to put them in to the equivalent of a puppy mill for birds.

I'm going to add to this: even though you want to give them to the right home, an adoption fee plus careful screening can weed out a lot of people with less than honorable intentions. Once people come to meet your bird you can waive the fee if you wish. That's how I got Charlotte. The people did have an adoption fee listed (though it was way too low), however once they decided that I would be a good home, they didn't ask for it.

Ahh Caiques are one of my favorites. I so wish I could drive up there. Actually, I will be in October, but I'm sure their adorable faces will have been swept up by somebody!

To answer the question if they have been around kids. Yes they have.

In full disclosure, the female can be a biter and will form an immediate judgment about the person that seems impossible to change (at least we have not figured it out). She will either cuddle with them or viciously bite. And it goes beyond the sex of the person. For example, she attacks my wife but cuddles with my mom lol. She will also bite if you are doing something she does not agree with, such as putting her in the cage (its actually quite remarkable because she can tell when I am picking her up with the intent to put her in the cage or to bring her to another part of the house to the point where I have had to go through elaborate subterfuge) I have not seen issues with children though.

Too bad I moved! I hope they find a good home and respect your decision to gove them a better life if you cannot provide it at the time; it is a tough but great thing to do.
Please be careful of people looking to flip them since they are free - vet the person who is adopting them well - I think you should adopt to someone in this community who is established here and not some new member with this as their first post like above, to avoid flippers and so you know it is someone that will provide a caring home.
