Ok I know this is off-topic(I'm really sorry Foxgloveparrot), but dyslexia isn't something you can develop(Acquired dyslexia can be caused by traumatic brain injury, stroke, or dementia, but not developmental dyslexia. Developmental dyslexia may shoe symptomslater in life but it'snot because you developed it). It's a condition which can affect a person's daily life. It's more than just, "I have difficulty spelling".

Sorry for this Off-topic message, but I just don't like it when people treat conditions based on the stereotypes or treat it as if it's a joke or just use it casually(OCD and ADHD are two common examples. ADHD is treated as if it's just being hyper, and OCD as if it's just wanting everything organized)(I'm probably being over-sensitive 😅 )

Sorry to break thread format - pipp I'm glad you said something! I know the many generational differences in speech and how it affects culture in the US have been a big topic in the last few years among my social group and workplace, and I've been really impressed that among my friends around the globe there's been great conversations around the things we didn't realize cause real harm.

For myself, a middle age American woman, I grew up in a time where 99% of jokes were jokes about people different from me and that creates a mindset of different = inferior no matter what your language or culture is about.

IMO being aware of how language has helped shape how we treat people who are different has nothing to do with politics or religion or our nationality or race or socioeconomic status - but it's still eye opening for someone like me who never thought about it until someone gently pointed it out to me.

So thanks pipp! For speaking up, and for being your generous self and assuming most of us are not poo heads but just aren't aware :)

1) it was a joke, 2) I hope you all realize that...I like to be funny. 3) I think my response was also thought provoking. the word first and last letter thing is real.

I remember that fascinated me when I first saw it. I don't remember it being compared to dyslexia, though, it is better without that.
