Vegetables for outdoor aviary

I was wondering if it would be safe to plant green bean or snow pea vines to grow in an outdoor aviary for my macaws to forage. I realize the beans themselves are fine but are the leaves/vines okay too?

Its strange I can find everything but nothing about the leaves or vines. Hope someone comes along soon. This is a interesting idea.

Former horticulturist here. Not much is known here, but i suspect the answer would be they are mildly toxic if raw, hardly deadly. My question is, given the propensity for shredding, is it worth it to grow thinking they would eat the bean pods only to have them damage the vine in no time flat.

Note beans are cool season crops so should essentially die when the heat of summer hits n

Thanks, I'd forgotten about beans being more of cool weather crop but generally I was just looking for some climbing fresh food to plant the aviary with. I do realize they will probably be fodder for their beaks but my Blue & Gold only plays with his Boston fern every now and then (usually just after I've swept the floor).

Hmmm. �� Looks to me after reading that link, that it's not a good idea having live plants in aviary unless,out od birds' reach.
