I just read a scientific article warning about using using shatterproof heat lamps to keep a brooder warm. Many of these bulbs are coated with PTFEs too and the fumes will kill nestlings.

Yep, that’s true. Chicken keepers like myself know to be very careful about such things. Fortunately, most heat/ brooder bulbs are not shatterproof and thus not Teflon coated. These chemicals really do end up in so many products
