What words & sounds?

WOW! I am just amazed at what some of these parrots have learned. I think they may be better impressionists than people!
I did not realize that some can sing and even soundtracks & opera? !!! Amazing :)

I'm 95% sure I heard Griffin say "I love you" tonight!! :)

It was pretty quiet, and said it with a peep first haha. I'm pretty sure he'll be a talker.

Luna says "hey baby" and also makes kissing sounds (she's constantly giving me kisses). When I toss her up in the air she says "weeeeee!" She's trying to say other words too, but I can't understand them yet.

Picasso isn't talking yet, but he has mastered the wolf whistle. We're trying to teach him the Addams family theme song.

Lizzy says "cricket" but that's the only word. She does mimic the microwave, the PS3 turning on, wolf whistle, and a clicking noise like you would call a horse or a dog with. And I swear I heard her meow once.

My pineapple GCC has the two syllable part down on words, not really talking yet, but you can kind of tell what he means. He more of chirps and eerps the words, but with context I can tell what he is trying to say. I just love it when he starts ranting. It sounds so adorable. All birds talk at a different rate though, it can take days to weeks to years, you just never know.
I think, if I'm wrong someone correct me, that GCC can learn up to 50 words if taught to talk early on. That sounds high, but that's what I heard.

Erik says "come up" ( when he is playing in the wardrobe and wants me to find him), kiss, tickle, hug and no. He also talks in his funny Sun Conure way as if he is having a conversation and his head moves about while he is talking. When I hug him and he is tired he mumbles and says "kiss"and "hug".

Norman says " hello, are you alright? Aahh there, kiss and makes various kissing noises, What do I get Norman? Come up, go on, where are you going?, apple, orange, ooh nice, Naughty Norman ( he does this in a creepy voice and always before he is really naughty) tickle, ahh tickle. He also whistles the Mexican hat dance, Daisy, Daisy, Java, The Liberty Bell and Twinkle Twinkle. He also loves to snore and make fart noises.

Django says his name. He also says "don't bite". Often while he's biting me. He also laughs when I laugh. That's pretty cute

LOL that he says dont bite while biting. and gosh I love it when my sun conure chuckles with me when I'm laughing. Sooooo darn cute I totally agree!!

Hahaha, Norman sounds like an awesome bird! I liked the name so well I named my new canary after him :)

I was so pleased to hear you named your Canary after Norman, Thank You. Hope he turns out to be as funny as Norman.

Hahahaha! Reading these has me in stitches! It's SO hilarious what our birds pick up and how they put things in context. I love it. My GCC, Avery, wasn't a talker until she was about one. I was surprised because I expected her to start talking much sooner. But when she hit one, I swear it was like a switch was flipped. She picked up "step up" immediately, and now she says' "helloooooo!", "what's up?", "what's up baby?", "what you dooooin?", "what what?", and I'm pretty sure she's starting to say, "love youuuu"! But I'm not sure yet. So I'm waiting until she says it clearly, otherwise I'll feel like I'm pumping my own ego, hahaha!

Shiko is only 5 months old going on 6, so he hasn't started saying concrete words yet or mimicking sounds. But I'm excited for when he does! It'll be hilarious to listen to his helium balloon voice.

I liked the name so well I could not resist naming my 'new guy' after yours :)

Ya know, I could swear that Larry is saying some words I have never taught him. I taught him 'hello' which he says often now. I am teaching him to say 'hello gorgeous' and 'hello Larry' and K-A-M-P (radio station call letters).
He was relaxing on my shoulder yesterday evening and he started mimicking a 'ha ha ha' laugh. He did that several times in the next few minutes. Then I thought I heard him say 'get over here' and a couple of other things that I couldn't quite make out. He did it again this morning. Larry is going on 5 months and is in his first molt.
Do these birds hear things as early as birth and possibly take it with them? Maybe he heard these things at the breeders very early on?
Anyone else have this happen with their birds? :)

Indy is just shy of a year old now and she will say:

Yeah?
Pretty bird!
Hers a pretty bird!
whisper whisper (while actually whispering)
Whatcha doin'?
Step up! (When she wants to be held lol)

She purrs sometimes and she also imitates my laugh which coming from her sounds dramatic and sarcastic at the same time lol cracks me up every time. There's another phrase that she repeats, but she sounds like she's talking under water so it's hard to catch it lol She also gives me kissey noises but doesn't say gimme kisses yet...I'm still repeating that one to her so one day she'll say it to me :)

Mine say "What are you doing?".."What?"... they say something else too but I haven't figured it out, It sounds like "peep peep," I think they might be trying to say "pretty," as in pretty bird... then they grumble back and forth to eachother when they're fired up and excited... I'm sure they know what they're saying, but I have no clue! I love hearing it though.. they sound like llittle grouchy old men when they do..lol.

The post above just reminded me... My mom has a Princess of Wales who talks. He sometimes makes a peeping noise, so one day I went up to him and said the words "peep peep peep!" It didn't take him long (can't remember if it was the same day) for Patches to actually say the words "peep peep". It's extremely funny and cute. He says it many times when I see him.

lol this thread is so funny. :p

Raeden can say her nick-name "Rae-Rae" in a grumbly voice and when I ask for a kiss she makes the exact sound a kiss would make.
