Aaaaaand!!!!!

Welcome to a new baby Ringy! These red eyes are a surprise, this means that the dad is split to ino, and the baby is a girl. Because dad is blue and mom is turquoise, the baby will be either albino (white) or creamino (pale yellow brushed over white).

I never saw this thread! Oh my god, look at all the tiny crests :) All these chicks are adorable but I have a new appreciation of baby cockatiels. Those pin feather crests are amazing!

I would probably buy myself out of house and home if I could afford the cost of more birds. I used to be awful with buying toys and treats amd anything bird, until I started making some toys lol

Yeah I make most of my own toys now; otherwise I can't afford it! I also have to buy my bird food in 50-100lb batches for the dry stuff, and I usually get about 20lbs of sproutables at a time.0

I can imagine you go through a lot of food, as a breeder!
Sometimes Bailey and Loki "help" make their toys, which usually ends up in Bailey stealing something and/or him nipping me because I am trying to work around him. Weirdo lol

I'm a very small breeder but I do rescue/ foster as well, plus my own pet birds. I end up buying the dry stuff about once a quarter.

First night in the brooder for these two. I usually pull babies significantly earlier than this if I'm going to hand feed. However I have been quite ill and the smell of the formula wasn't something I could handle. My plan was to co-parent this clutch but the results were not what I was hoping for so I decided to try pulling them for handfeeding. They just had their first feeding and both did very well even though they are significantly older than would be ideal.

Yeah, I only buy the 5 pound bags in the dry stuff, and it still lasts about 6 months, so a larger bag every quarter is a lot to me hehehe
